Hi Janet,

I was just replying to your post when one of my soon-to-be-murdered teenagers

picked up the phone and cut me off line. Anyway, I was looking for you and

found this post.

Fear no more! I had MGB on Aug. 10. I also had open gall bladder surgery

back in 1983, and have a huge scar. Dr. R. was able to remove alot of scar

tissue and successfully performed the operation in about 82 minutes. Best of

all, my (Type II) diabetes is now cured! I have had no problems - no

complications - no reflux, etc. It did seem to take me longer to walk after

surgery (I was walking the evening of the surgery though - on the third try)

and I had a lot of pain compared to the others. But then again, I am 44

years old, was 336 lbs. at date of surgery, and had ALOT of scar tissue from

long ago. As of a few days ago, Iam totally pain free, and I have lost 14

lbs. Don't worry. Feel free to write me or call . I'll be

glad to answer any questions that I can. Good luck. Sherry
