I know the " loops " are frustrating to get through, but what you end up with is an

educated, disciplined patient who is responsible for their health, knowledgable

about what has/will happen to them. They know what the restrictions are,and

understand the effect it will have on there life. I remember being frustrated

also, but now that my friends have had other wls procedures and are very

.............ignorant(for lack of a better word)about what was done, and the

post-op expectations,etc. I'm glad Dr.R requires alot pre-op. As to whether or

not I'd do this again.........a thousand absolutelies! This,FOR ME,is the best

health care decision I've ever made. This isn't for everyone. This isn't a quick

or easy fix. This IS a major, potentially life threatening intervention(like ANY

WLS!)Only you can decide what's right for you. My friend just paid $3500 for

lasik surgery so he doesn't have to wear glasses....I was able to reverse a

lifetime of misery and health problems for around $10,000.Th!

at puts it into perspective for me. I'm worth more than a new car or

vacation.I'm not saying everyone has this $$ around. My hubby is a full time

student, and I have twins at home. Money is very tight. I was approved out of

network at 60%. My hospital is only paying $780 dollars on a $9200 bill!

Yes,we're working out a payment plan w/ Durham, but I do understand why they

aren't bothering with insurance. It was a waste of time! Knowing what I know

now,I would pay full price for this....but that's my choice. I picture myself as

an obese, elderly lady.Crippled with a lifetime of arthritis, cardiac disease and

hypertension and someone saying " Is there anything you'd change about your

life? " My response would be " To not be obese " . Well I had that chance.I made

that change. I think I'm the bravest person I know!

I got a chance to change my destiny, and for that I'm very happy! Good luck in

what I see as the toughest decsion of your life!
