, I always feel more pain and discomfort

when coming down off pred, even though I am on metho.

That is why its a good idea to stay on the same dose

for a while, so your body gets used to it. Then when

it stabilises, you can go down some more. but of

course it is never simple or straightforward!!! Love Liz

, I hurt really bad in the back of my ribs too. Every doctor tells

me that there isn't any cartilage back there. I don't care if there is or

not, I HURT there. Can't even touch them. I think this happens more as I

come off the pred. The lower I get the more aches and pains I find. LOL

Hope you are feeling better today.

Hi there ,

I, too, experience aches and pains as I reduce Prednisone. One of my doctors

reminded me that Prednisone is a super-anti-inflammatory and that as the dosage

is reduced, we are likely to begin feeling some pain that may have been there

but was masked by the Pred. He recommended Motrin. For me, Prednisone is like

speed. I don't sleep and I bounce off the walls a lot. As it's reduced, not

only do I start to feel some pain, but I also get really tired. It's important

to identify the pain. Is it muscle soreness? Or is it joint pain? And equally

important, try to rest and give your body time to adjust as it reclaims some of

the sleep it's been deprived of. Baby yourself. For me each incremental

reduction of Prednisone seems to take about a week for my body to adjust. I

used to work through the pain/fatigue, but now I just give in to it. Maybe this

is what drug addicts go through during withdrawal. Guess that makes us steroid

junkies.
