Guest guest
Dear Tammy, You have every right to answers, and to expect as much clarity and prompt responses to your questions about your health. As said, radiologists do make mistakes and you can get two different opinions out of one film by two different interpreters. My last MRCP failed to film the bottom portion of my pancreas, because it isn't where they " expected " it to be, resulting in an incorrect diagnosis of my only having one pseudocyst. Well, I knew I had two, and I had 12 earlier CT-scans showing two, but because of this radiologist's lack of thoroughness, suddenly I only had one. This resulted in 6 weeks worth of delay reaching a critical decision. So, personally, I think you're doing the best thing by going ahead and taking the bull by the horns and getting your appointment at Duke for a second opinion. When I read that you had done so, I was mentally saying " you GO girl! " We have to be our own advocates in this business, Tammy, because there just aren't any other people that know as much about ourselves as we do. I'm so glad you've got your appointment with Pappas, he has a well-known reputation and I know he's really helped others with their CP problems. Take your MRCP film, and also pick up a copy of your medical records, too, if you don't already have them. I have copies of all of mine which I update every quarter. It means that I can go see anyone I want, whenever I want to, with current records. I'm happy where I am, but knowing that I have this option makes me feel a bit more secure. We'll be anxious to hear how the appointment goes on Monday, so let us know when you can. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl. Your personnel file might have a gold nugget in it to help sway the judge. Tammy, I wish it were so, but I'm self employed with my own business, called " Heidesign " . I am the owner, and sole employee. I already " fired " myself some time ago...LOL! Whenever I've met with my clients, or the builders whom I've done work for, I've hidden my illness very successfully. No one here, except for a handful of personal friends, my next door neighbor, my doctor and my pharmacist, know that there is anything wrong with me.(grin) With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
