I only know one thing about this. In terms of SCD, it is illegal. Doesn't matter

how you cook it.

If you choose to eat this, you would no longer be following SCD.

Sorry...

Roasted Rice

Has any one come across this?

I am having some Natural Healing treatment which is supposed to be good

for treating allergies. It is an offshoot of Toatal Body Modifictation

(TBM).

I have been given a recipe for cooking rice which is supposed to change

the way the body utilises it. You dry fry wholegrain rice until it

turns a golden yellow colour which according to them burns off the

saturated sugars leaving a protein substance. Once cool you cook as

usual.

They say this came from some research in Germany 35 years ago.

I'm not sure about this as the centre of the rice grain is carbohydrate

so I can't see how this would help.

Anyone any thoughts on this?

thanks

Sandy

There are several references to rice in BTVC and on page 28 of the

tenth edition #3 Elaine describes the amylopectin starch in rice. Page

67 is explicit in disallowing rice from SCD.
