Guest guest
Hello! I had an echocardiogram this morning and am scheduled to have a pulmonary function test this afternoon. Both of these were ordered by Dr Buckner when I checked in with her on Tuesday, telling her how tired and in pain I've been. We upped the prednisone to 50, and she said to feel free to go to 60 if there's more pain, until I see her next Tuesday. I am feeling better on the 50, although the breathing still seems strange. I get winded really easily. I need to start exercising, so I'm going to be walking with my mom in Portland, this weekend. INstead of driving there,as I normally do, I'm taking the train so I can rest if I need to. It should be fun. I'm having trouble at work, due to this condition and missing partial days. I am the Director of Administration and it is a position that was developed to take a lot of the internal responsibilities off of the Executive Director, so that she could focus externally more. I think she's working out of a place of fear, but she has made a couple of comments about having the Board of Director's support to do whatever she needs to do to make sure that things don't come back onto her plate. They are somewhat threatening in tone, but then she says that she knows things will get better. I don't want to work out of a place of anger, but I know that my rights under the ADA are protected and we are a long way from me not being able to do my job well enough, also. It just doesn't help to have that negative tone sitting in the distance. How have others dealt with this in current, or previous jobs? I've only missed 4 days in two months, and worked between 6 - 8 hours a day for the rest of the time. Any stories would be helpful. Thanks!
