Guest guest
Hi Holly- I am from Oswego IL. It is about 15 minutes west of Naperville. Yes, I would like to get together with everyone on the 26th! That is a great idea. I saw that someone else from IL lived in LaGrange. I work in Westmont, not too far from there. Beth!!! (Madame Butterfly!) You crack me up!!! I was laughing so hard when you said you are ready to like a pizza to death!!! My favorite food!! I am so ready and so willing to join you!! Love, Madame Butterfly Junior ALL-- Just an update. As I said before I had surgery 8/9/00. I have been feeling good but I have no idea what I have lost. I was hovering around 350 while I was getting all my paperwork together in the few months prior, however I had creeped up past the 350 mark sometime in the process. Thankfully Dr. R didn't turn me away, but he IS strick about that and I was very worried. I was sure that by today I'd be back on the scale but not yet. I hope that I'm losing!!! I'll let ya know. Something interesting... After my surgery Dr. R came out to tell my Mom that I was out and that it went well. He also told her that on me he bypassed EIGHT feet instead of the semi-standard six feet of colon. He told her we could expect a good weight loss. I am so ready for that!! I'm still on liquids (Viactive smoothies, juices, Boost protein drinks, and soup broth) but I still DO crave all my old favorites like pizza (lick! lick!), garlic bread, pasta etc! I thought that those cravings would immediately disappear but they didn't. If I hadn't had surgery I would have already surrendered but since I DID have the surgery the fear of vomit, bile and the E.R. keep me right on track!! Not without a little depression though. What HAS disappeared instantly is my acid reflux! I have spent the last two years on Prilosec 20mg every day. I was suicidal without it and sometimes I still needed Tums or something extra. I am taking the prescribed Prevacid post-op, but I can definitely tell when I wake up in the morning that I don't have acid reflux sitting in my throat. My BP is much better already too. I had gone on BP meds at age 30 just a few months prior to surgery and that's already better. I also do not have the pitting edema (retained fluid) in my feet anymore at all. I had that almost consistantly since April prior to surgery. The one thing I have now is some aching/pain just under my ribs on the left side when I drive or sit too long in one position. Other than that I feel good. My incisions are healing (itchy!!)and I don't get light headed anymore. I still get depressed but this e-group really helps. I'm surprised I feel this way since I worked so hard to get this surgery and I KNOW I would die without it and I have nothing but weight loss to look forward to. It's like I am both happy and depressed. Just mixed emotions I guess. Thank you to everyone who specifically welcomed me to this group!! It means a lot!
