Guest guest
Hello there! You are very lucky if there is little damage to the pancreas. You may not get another attack IF YOU STOP ALL ALCOHOL!! Sorry to be boring about it but I know from what so many doctors and patients have said that this is crucial. Every drop of alcohol causes futher damage and one drink could one day cause another attack. I don't know how ill you were with your attacks so far but it is a fact that acute pancreatitis can be still to-day be fatal. Even if not fatal, repeated attacks of acute pancreatitis can lead to chronic pancreatitis and damage to the pancreas is NOT reversible; you would have the disease for life. PLEASE try to make sure you don't get chronic pancreatitis.....it is NOT nice, believe me. There was nothing I could do about mine; it's hereditary and I've had it since the age of five! But, if you CAN avoid it, please do! Best wishes again and good luck! Fliss
