Hi Ellen...

For purposes of SCD, buckwheat is technically not allowed. :)

It may not be a grain in the same way that other grains are (individual kernals

of wheat *are* called " berries " , though! Hmmmm....), but is considered a starch

of the sort that will feed bad gut pathogens.

In the same way that potatoes and corn are veggies but are not allowed

either. They are starchy.

I'm guessing here that it contains disaccharide starch. It's a guess.
