Guest guest
Hi : We are in the same boat with our two. They do better on lower protein SCD. How about a smaller portion of protein (our guys eat meats) and lots of their favourite " starch substitute " dishes like popcorn cauliflower, buttered & honeyed spaghetti squash with tomato sauce, broccoli boiled in salted water, deep fried carrot curls or butternut squash chips etc. Because they do not get rice etc. I find that they need high volumes of veggies to make up for this. So we batch large amounts of each veggie, and give two or three different ones at each meal to fill them up. Fruits & candies can help increase the carb content, as well as smoothies. We are on Dr. Amy's protocol too. All the best, mum to Mimi and iel ASD, pure SCD 1 yr and 1 month respectively erica lelle wrote: Graham eats an avocado a day to help with fat intake. We use avocado instead of meat at one meal a day for him. I use coconut flour for baking instead of nut flours, and make a squash casserole with TONS of ghee in it to also increase fat. A typical day for Graham is as follows: Breakfast: banana, squash casserole, and apple cide Lunch: Applegate hot dog, green beans, carrots, and a fruit Dinner: avocado, applesauce, fried eggplant with sauce Pretty boring, but it is low protein! a > > We started the SCD diet as a family 2 months ago to assist my 3 yo's > gut in healing.
