Guest guest
Thanks for the email. I will call my PCP on Tues when she is in the office to see about a pulmonologist. Is this something my ENT can check out? I have been hoarse off & on since I got this. I've always had a low voice but now it is raspy. Also my throat keeps swelling from the top down, by the uvula. This is every morning. I have told my rheumy but he doesn't do anything. This is my second rheumy since I lost my first one 1-1-02 when she dropped our insurance. He seems to be concerned about me & even came to the hospital special when he admitted me the day after Christmas. I just don't know all the ins & outs of this whole thing. It's a lot to handle. Maybe I'll call him tomorrow although I don't know if he can give me a referral. At least I have something to go on. Sometimes I think they don't like us finding out different things because they might feel threatenedif we know something they don't. I also have trouble swallowing at times & have choked on a crumb of toast or other little thing. I mentioned this but he didn't seem to be concerned since it wasn't a big item. I think the smaller ones are worse. Will keep you posted. Susiecue

Guest guest
Susiecue, I see an ENT for my throat. My Rheumy does not deal with that, he prefers I see my other specialists when I have problems outside of his field. My ENT does a scope of my throat. He sprays my throat to numb it so it is not uncomfortable. I also see a Pulmonologist every 3 months for a Pulmonary Function test to make sure I am not developing problems from RP in my Trachea or lungs. Sandy Thanks for the email.
