Guest guest
Hi all, I've just finished posting a number of new files on the main PAI website that contain some more of the handouts that were distributed at the 4th Annual Symposium on Pancreatitis that was held this past August on the campus of Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN. This latest set has to do with the session on Pain Management, which was presented by Dr. Neil Irick, a pain management specialist here in Indianapolis. There are 6 or 7 separate .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) files with the slides and lecture notes. Topics include: Pharmacological Pain Management (role of analgesics, non-analgesics, narcotics, anti-depressants, antil-convulsants, etc) Non-Pharmacological Pain Management (Behavior Modification, Biofeedback, Accupuncture, etc) Interventional Approaches - nerve blocks, stiumulators, interthecal pumps Tolerance vs. Dependance vs. Addiction vs. Pseudoaddiction - important distinctions! To view/download them, go to http://www.pancassociation.org/symposium_2003_handouts.html Hope you will find this information helpful. Cheers, --Tull Assistant Moderator Pancreatitis Association, Int'l
