Guest guest
Hi gang, I post every once and a while, but now since you are my family I have a special request. For those of you who do not know, I am in the process of getting the excess weight off me so I can have the MGB. Well, I went and held my breathe and took the plunge. I weighed in and I had lost 6 pounds. This is good but very very discouraging to me. I have been trying to work on this diet and am doing the best I can. I have only lost 6 pounds since I left Durham which was July 12th. What am I going to do??? At this rate It will be next year before I get the surgery. I have been shooting for the end of August, but now it looks like it will be longer. My request is that YOU ALL PRAY FOR ME AND THIS DIET. I am trying not to get discouraged, but it is easy to when I am soooo hungry and the weight will not come off. Thanks for listening or reading this. Any words of advice will greatly be appreciated. With Love, Lara M. Akin (BMI 63) Trying to get my weight down to do the dance with Dr. Rutledge.

Guest guest
Lara, my heart goes out to you. Of course, we will allpray for you. But in the mean time, I know you are friends with . Have you tried the 12 day diet she did? Other than that I am not one to give advise on dieting. It never worked for me! Guest guest
Hi Lara, I've been wanting to tell you this. When my son and I were at clinic with you(it was a full house!)it was you that he remembered the most. My son is only ten years old, but he is one of the most compassionate people I have ever known. He saw that you were out of breath(most of us were)when you walked across the room. I saw him get sort of sad and asked him why. He told me that you looked like such a nice person and that he felt bad for you because you seemed to be out of breath from walking. He said that Dr. Rutledge is a good man to help us and that he hoped that you were able to have surgery soon so that you could feel better. Now, is'nt that a sweet thing for a little boy to say? I've been reading your posts to him and he is your number one fan! We know that you can lose enough weight on your own to have surgery soon. We'll be watching for your progress reports! We love you.
