Hi Chrissy,

Thanks for your comforting words. I hope and pray that you are right!

Here's the info you want and you'll find lots more as well.

Go to PAI main page and click on " What's coming down the Duct?

Weekly Pancreas Web Alerts " . The 3rd paragraph down on the first

page you come to will give you a report on the Chicago Symposium.

If you want more papers, under " Services " on the left hand side of

the page, click " Consensus Papers " . Two that interested me, even

though I could not understand the science, were :

" Genetic Testing for Hereditary Pancreatitis : Guidelines for

Indications, Counselling, Consent and Privacy Issues. " The names of

the doctors mentioned on screen are : Ellis I. (he's my geneticist

from Liverpool), Whitcomb D.C (he's from Pittsburgh, possibly the

world's biggest HP research centre....some of my testing will be

done there!) and Lerch MM.

The second was :

" Pancreatic Cancer in Hereditary Pancreatitis : Consensus Guidelines

for Prevention, Screening and Treatment. " I can't remember what the

names on screen were but, in any case, there seem to pages of them

when you print these articles off!

There are all sorts of interesting articles and papers, especially

for someone with a medical background like yourself. I can usually

just get the gist of them and understand the conclusion but none of

the actual science!

Well, Chrissy, I expect you're busy with final preparations for

Christmas. My younger son has just come home from university and the

elder one will be arriving from London with his wife on Christmas

Eve. Last night we went to a carol concert at my husband's school

(ex-school, as he retired in July!) and it was just glorious!

I wish you many blessings and a happy and peaceful time. I hope the

pain is subsiding now. Don't overdo it. A thousand thanks for all

your help and support.

With love,

Fliss
