Guest guest
Hi Chrissy! I have two sons but, sadly, no grandchildren! My younger son, , is 26. He has just finished his PhD and will be working in London from next May. My older son, , is 31. He lives in London with his lovely wife, Gill. They are all wonderful and I adore them! Of course I'm worried about the HP. I have already been tested here in Liverpool for the four most common gene mutations known to cause HP but the tests were negative. They are doing more tests and some may even be carried out in Pittsburgh. In any case, geneticists haven't yet discovered the gene mutation(s) to cover about 20% of cases. My pancreatologist is sure it's HP in my case because of the pattern of my illness and my mother's. He thinks I simply probably belong to the 20% whose gene mutations haven't yet been discovered although there is still a small chance that they will find one of the rarer known mutations in the futher tests. Until and unless they find a gene mutation to expalin my own case, there is no point undertaking teating for the boys. They have never yet had pain but each case is different. My pains began in childhood. Well, enough for now. Happy Christmas again! Love, Fliss
