I use my mandolin Borner Swiss " V " slicer for beets on the tin side of

the basic slicing blade. My Cusinart has a slicing disc in addition to

the metal blade. is that what you used?

I know that this post will not make me popular, but deep frying food

is not a healthy way to prepare it. Beets are okay for SCD, but

things like beet chips and deep fried foods should really be kept to a

minimum because the nutritional value is pretty much gone after deep

fried.

I am sure that there is plenty of information online about what deep

frying does to foods.

I would not recommend the purchase of a deep fryer for this reason.

Oven baked squash or beet chips are very nice. Use parchment paper or spray a

cookie

sheet with oil and spray the tops of the thinly sliced veggies too. Bake at 375

until brown,

turning once.

The fried chips are OK occasionally but when I first joined the list it seemd

they were

consumed too ofen.
