Just wanted to chime in because my daughter was casted in October for her band-

it was NOT a traumatic experience at all. Yes, a " stocking " covered her head-

not her face, but she did not mind that or the plaster at all. THe only time she

got a little scare is when he took the cast off actually, she didn't even mind

the vibrations to cut it off. I think as long as you distract them, they are

fine. My daughter sat on my lap the whole time and was not worried by it. It

literally took less than 10 minutes to make the cast. Now it seems like a

distant memory as we are done with the band. SO do don't let casting scare you.

But you know your child the best, so take their personality into consideration!
