Hey guys & gals,

Just a short note to ask you to pray really hard for me. I called

the

insurance company this morning. First I asked to speak to a nurse or

a physician. the young girl on the other end said " I am not a nurse

but I can help you if you like. " I very nicely thanked her for her

assistance and again asked to speak to a nurse or a physician for

pre-authorization..She this time complied with my request....after

being left on hold for what seemed to be an eternity I got to speak

with a Utilization Review nurse....(I don't know if that is good ro

not) I told her about my dealings with the lady last week and I

asked

if that lady was a nurse and I was tole that she was not. I then

told

here what my benefits book said about exclusions of surgery except

inthe case of medical necessity and then asked if the lady last week

was qualified to make such decisions without being a nurse or a

physician...The reply was " She is not qualified to make such

decisions. " So now the nurse is going to pull my benefits contract

and the letter and maybe I will get some kind of answer to my request

by nightfall....LOL. I am definately going to ask for an

appeal..This

way I know that it will at least be looked at by a surgeon that is as

qualified to do this surgery as Dr.R (but not nearly as skilled I am

sure) Please pray hard that they will allow me to do this. If not I

am going to have to start counting pennies to pay for it my self

Congratulations on taking that step! You are definitely in my prayers and I

am sure everyone else's! I bet you get approval this time! Don't quit

bugging them! I called almost every day! The girl who answered the phone

and I got on first name basis. She was as thrilled as I was when I got

approved. (probably glad I'd quit calling ) )
