Guest guest
, While reading through the messages from yesterday I saw your comment about the " twisting " feeling in the intestines that you asked about. I have this problem often enough to know what you are trying to describe. This, on top of the pancreas discomfort, definetely makes things confusing. I had a colonoscopy last year and the report noted that I had an extremely contorted, twisted and redundant intestine. This apparently is not a medical problem, but it does cause intestinal discomfort sometimes. Being as skinny as I am now, there are times when I can lie flat on my back and actually see the movement of matter working it's way through the upper intestines - they actually buldge and roll around underneath my skin, and make a tremendous noise when they are doing this. The noise itself is embarrasing enough, an amplified version of the sound you hear when someone says they can " hear your stomach growling " ......except it's not my stomach they're hearing!!! Yet this, as with anything else that continues and concerns you, is something you need to discuss with your doctor. Your physician may want to order a colonoscopy just as a matter of routine. Many of us with CP have had them as part of our physicians' routine gastrointestinal checkups. BTW, I also have internal hemorroids as a result of the earlier times of continual diarrhea/constipation with malabsorption. When they were inflamed they would cause the horrible feeling of pressure and burning that you were also inquiring about. I had difficulty with this for a coule of years until my Gi finally started me on intermittant treatment with Miralax. That fortunately, has allieviated all of these problems. I've had that and it is very uncomfortable as well.

What I meant to say that the Miralax has allieviated the constipation/diarrhea, hemorroid/burning problems....it has NOT had any effect on the intestinal twisting and noises, that is pretty much a constant problem. You should hear me now...haha, it's so loud that it would wake my husband (and has) out of a sound sleep! I notice it most about eight or more hours after eating. Guest guest
Thanks Heidi, I appreciated all of this info. And nice to know I'm not alone with this......very odd isn't it?? Right now, I'm extremely constipated (a BAD day yesterday that landed me in the ER). That's a whole other story because Docs there were clueless. thanks Heidi > >>But had to ask in case it has anything to do with intestinal > problems on top of everything....speaking of that.....does anyone > ever get a sort of " twisting " in their intestines??
