Guest guest
Dinahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Read the emails the last week -- everybody that is about 2 weeks post op goes through the very same thing, really, really, really!!! I even put this in my web page because it is something I went through, too. At 2 weeks, I wasn't losing weight -- ARRRRGH!!! Just look at all the people who wrote the same thing just this week and they are all in the 2-3 week timeframe. It's *normal.* The first weight you lose is water weight. After that, your body is breaking down fat (and carrying the water from all those fat cells around awhile, to boot!) It takes 2-3 weeks before your body starts getting rid of the actual fat. You are doing great! This is not a diet. It doesn't depend on you for success. It will work in spite of you, really. Relax. Hugs!!! Guest guest
Thanks again , I guess I know that I just need to have someone pound it in my head! I guess I'm so use to failing at loosing weight that I expect to fail at this too. I feel great and I don't eat much and I try not to dwell on it...but people (especially family) keep asking, " Well, how much have you lost? " I want to avoid them all because I don't want to say EIGHT pounds! lol I have my grandson here fo rthe week so maybe I can get involved with him (age 2 years) and not see anyone else! lol Thanks for the support! AGAIN! Guest guest
The answer to the magic question is: I don't know. I only get to weigh once a month. Can you tell I'm losing? (Of course they'll say yes!) Kind regards, Dinah Boatwright wrote: > > Thanks again , I guess I know that I just need to have someone > pound it in my head! Guest guest
Hi Dinah Congrats on the 8 pounds--when was the last time you lost 8 pounds in two weeks??? If you can tell you've lost some inches, then if you hadn't been on your scale at home every morning (like we all do!) then you'd be feeling GREAT about everything. So, here's a suggestion--while you have your grandson there with you, don't get on the scale--you'll be so busy running around after him, by the time you get on the scale after he's gone, you'll have a huge *grin* on your face when you see the number. Even better yet--wait to weigh until the month check-up! Best Wishes-- --a in CT MGB 7/20/00 30 pounds gone forever > Hi Ya'll, > I am trying not to get concerned but...I have only lost 8 lbs! Guest guest
Thanks e, Yes that will difinately work. He is running me aroundfor sure. He is napping right now is the only way I got to get on the computer. He loves pushing buttons! lol Everyone has given me such good suggestions and I want to take advantage of them all. This is such a great place to come and voice your fears and conerns. Everyone is soooo supportive. Thanks again, Dinah PS Girl you need to put down that diet Dr P. I was drinking a six pack of diet coke a day prior to surgery. I had to stop them and it was hard but it is one of those things you need to do! As the Nike commercial says. " Just Do it! " lol Dinah > > Hi Ya'll, > > I am trying not to get concerned but...I have only lost 8 lbs! I > had > > surgery Aug 16 and things seem to be going great. I can tell I have > > lost some inches.
