We went last Wednesday and had measurements and an ajudtment.

It looks like the cephalic index for brachy is 92% (was 96% at the beginning).

The plagio is static at 6mm (and it was ~5mm to begin with so it's obviously

error). Visually it has improved alot but now like I said in my previous email

the right side (which had the plagio) is now better looking and more round the

left side which used to be normal. At the last visit the orthotist took some

measurements and just removed a layer of foam. IT wasn't removed all the way

around like an onion just enough to cover the forehead. I didn't ask why but I

imagine that if she took out the whole layer it would have been too loose. As

far as the hollow part, I told her that the edges leave slights indents on his

head and if she can taper them so they're more gradual. She said she would, but

visually I can't tell the difference and the indents are still present. I took

his band off for the entire day today again. I can't leave it on in good

conscience if it's going to cause the reverse plagio. I've included pictures of

the band and where it is hollow. The part towards the top that has taped in foam

is the part that I kept asking about.

I put pictures of the band in Our Plagio Babies O (It's called IMG_2053.jpg.)

but not of his head. It's so mild and subtle that the asymetry won't come

accross in pics. You can't tell but the part that was added in is not as thick

as the rest of the helmet and it's pretty much useless. I wanted it put there to

keep the part that's popping out more a the top constrained. The ortho told me

that the head grows from the bottom up but his head looks like it's growing WAY

MORE on top than bottom. Shouldn't it be proportional??

(I never think of the right questions while I'm there - it's usually when I read

stuff on this group that I think of them)

And just to put it in perspective my ortho has less than 2 years of experience

banding. She is very young but has a biomedical engineering background and a

year of specialty ortho schooling...She is really nice and understanding and

professional and promptly answers my questions tho...

Thanks
