Guest guest
I would encourage you to stick to the diet. What exactly is your midwife concerned about? I have a friend in California who is a labor and delivery nurse, and she thinks that scd is great. Is your midwife just concerned about weight gain? I wouldn't think that she's concerned about nutrition since the foods that you've listed are more nutritious than most pregnant women eat. Have you been losing weight? I would just continue on, and eat as you need to in terms of hunger. The diet is certainly not unhealthy. Guest guest
Hi Emma; I am also pregnant (24 weeks) and TRYING to adhere to dairy-free SCD. I have been under tremendous stress lately and haven't been able to adhere as well as I'd like - but I'm going to get back to it. I would definitely stick to SCD if I were you. I had difficulty gaining weight when I was adhering strictly to the diet. Just try to eat as much as you can, and add some nutritionally dense foods such as advocado if you're having trouble gaining. I would also highly recommend cod liver oil, omega 3 and 6 oils, and probiotic in the form of home made goat yogurt. Highly beneficial for Mom and Baby during and after pregnancy. Good luck :-) Kim 4 months dairy free SCD 3.5 yo ASD, 2 yo w/beh'r & G.I issues
