Guest guest
Our new baby, Jack, is home from the hospital! He was in ICU for two weeks with meconium blockage. The doctors choose to wait ten days to give him time to clear the meconium on his own without surgery and with the help of enemas. Surgery was scheduled on the afternoon of his ninth day since he was not improving. That morning the x-ray showed remarkable improvement and he had passed all of the meconium (praise God!). He started to breastfeed the next day and he came home three days later! Thank you to all who offered advice about what to expect with meconium illeus.
