Guest guest Posted March 2, 2004 Report Share Posted March 2, 2004 Follow up to discussion re: Indiana University Hospital ERCP Department I was diagnosed by Dr. Stuart Sherman at Indiana University Hospital, which is part of the Indiana University Purdue University Medical Science Center. Since that time, August 4, 1999, I have continued to be followed by this team of Pancreatologists. The following is some information you may find helpful. It includes information on the hospital, ERCP department, the doctors, and lodging accommodations, as well as information re: Indianapolis. Karyn E. , RN Executive Director, PAI http://www.pancassociation.org Pancreatitis Association International http://medicine.iupui.edu/ercp/iu_hospital_general_info.asp The faculty at IU Hospital ERCP Department is on the forefront of endoscopic research in the pancreaticobiliary tree and are recognized authorities on the application of ERCP to diseases of the pancreas and biliary tree. Their primary research is centered on diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP, sphincter of Oddi manometry, and gastroesophageal reflux. They are also conducting ongoing studies in Endoscopic management of idiopathic Pancreatitis and prevention of post-ERCP Pancreatitis. http://medicine.iupui.edu/ercp/physician_profiles.asp Dr. Lehman is a Professor of Medicine and Radiology and is in charge of Clinical Affairs for the Division of Gastroenterology/Hepatology at the Indiana University Medical Center. His research interests center on diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP, sphincter of Oddi manometry, and gastroesophageal reflux. He is active in the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is a past member of its governing board. Dr. Lehman served as the Associate Editor of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy from 1992-1997. He is an Associate Editor for the Journal Endoscopy. In addition, he is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology. He has numerous publications. Dr. Lehman is the 1996 recipient of the Rudolf Schindler Award presented by the ASGE. Following his Gastroenterology training at UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Sherman did a third tier fellowship in therapeutic ERCP and sphincter of Oddi manometry at Indiana University Medical Center. He then served as the Director of Pancreaticobiliary Endoscopy at UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Sherman returned to Indiana University Medical Center in October 1992 and was made Director of the ERCP service in July 1995. Currently, he is Professor of Medicine and Radiology at Indiana University Medical Center. He is a recognized authority on the application of ERCP to diseases of the pancreas and biliary tree lecturing nationally and internationally. Dr. Sherman is at the forefront of endoscopic research in the pancreaticobiliary tree and is widely published in this area. He is on the Editorial Board of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the leading journal in his field.
