Guest guest
If you are refering to the Star cranial center in Columbia, MD, here is my feedback. Although our daughter is wearing a DOC band from CT in ndale, VA, we go on a regular basis and get her head scanned at Orthomerica in Columbia, MD. Plank is the orthotist we see there and she is great, nice, understanding and supportive. There is another parent on this board, , whose daughter is wearing a STAR band and will probably give you more feedback about the Star cranial center in Columbia, MD. I am intrigued: why are you inquiring about two star cranial locations so far away from one another? Guest guest
According to their website, there are only two STAR Cranial Centers (one in TX & one in MD). I live in land. I asked about both because I wasn't sure if I would hear from anyone in land. So far, I can't seem to find anyone in the DC/MD/VA who has used them. I'm interested, but don't want to go to this places without hearing any feedback. > > > From: robin.grey@... <robin.grey@...> > Subject: Seeking Feedback on STAR Cranial Center in TX or MD > Plagiocephaly > Date: Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 2:06 PM > > > > > > > I'm seeking feedback from anyone who has used the STAR Cranial Center in MD or TX. Guest guest
That is where we currently go (the one in MD). I only have positive things to say. Plank is the orthotist and the lady in the office is very nice as well. is on the conservative side when it comes to banding (in the sense that she considers within two standard deviations to be normal and some consider one standard deviation to be normal). That being said, she has been responsive to me. She recently agreed to allow me to keep my daughter in the helmet even though she thinks that we will have no more changes. She did this because, I, as the parent, requested it. She uses a scanner to measure the head and is very skilled at this. She appears to know what she is doing. We have only needed minimal adjustments to the helmet. It fit fairly well to begin with and due to 's age, she has had limited growth. We only had a piece of padding added to the top front and some additional cutting around the ears. We only needed foam shaved out once. I believe that most babies have visits every one to two weeks, but since the 2nd month, we go every 4 weeks because 's growth has slowed down. I believe I read somewhere that she had her own baby in a STARband at some point. Please feel free to ask me any specific questions that you'd like answered. , mom to , 18 months 3 weeks 17 weeks in STARband plus CST land Seeking Feedback on STAR Cranial Center in TX or MD> Plagiocephaly > Date: Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 2:06 PM> > > > > > > I'm seeking feedback from anyone who has used the STAR Cranial Center in MD or TX.
