Hi all,

I had my follow-up appt. with my GI yesterday to discuss my treatment

plan. Since I have been having poor pain control and am a recovering

alocoholic and pain pill abuser the doctor has givin me two options

for control of my pain.

The 1st is to have a mophine pump placed internally to dispense pain

med contiuously and the other is a Thorascopic Splanchnicectomy.

Has anyone heard of the procedures above? Are they successful at

controlling the pain? The second one is a resection of the

Splanchnicect nerve. Will this procedure affect all sensation

conected to this nerve? Is this nerve only going to the pancreas?

Please help any info would be appreciative.
