Guest guest
Hi all, I had my follow-up appt. with my GI yesterday to discuss my treatment plan. Since I have been having poor pain control and am a recovering alocoholic and pain pill abuser the doctor has givin me two options for control of my pain. The 1st is to have a mophine pump placed internally to dispense pain med contiuously and the other is a Thorascopic Splanchnicectomy. Has anyone heard of the procedures above? Are they successful at controlling the pain? The second one is a resection of the Splanchnicect nerve. Will this procedure affect all sensation conected to this nerve? Is this nerve only going to the pancreas? Please help any info would be appreciative. Patty Louisville, KY
