Guest guest
Our insurance, which is through my husband's work, is getting ready to double up in price, so we do not know if it is going to be renewed by the employer. I am so concerned, any thoughts from you all?? Ever since a was diagnosed this has been my biggest worry. He works for a small family owned company, his family, there are about 80 employees of which forty something are under the company's insurance. I guess because of rising costs in medical care and maybe a's cost and another employee that has Hepatitis B, our insurance doubled, I don't know I am shooting darts in the wind, here. I am so worry, have any of you been through anything like this? Any thoughts would be appreciated. mom of a 10 wcf, Venanzio 7 nocf, Pepe 3 nocf
Guest guest
Hi , Yes I have been through this too. Our insurance went up so much in 2 years time that we had to put on medical assistance. We just wouldn't have been able to afford all the co-pays and the insurance costs. It has really taken a great weight off of our shoulders, but we still have to jump through hoops and fight to get what she needs. Hopefully we will be able to get her off of it sometime soon. Guest guest
Our insurance costs have also gone up dramatically in the last two years (along with our home insurance and car insurance!)--I have noticed a strong correlation with 9-11 on this, and my insurance agent has said it definitely influenced it. My husband's employer finally put a cap on how much he will cover per employee of $500.00/month. Now we have to pay an additional $387.00/month. We have no medical assistance options here, so there is no help coming from that arena. In order to get medical assistance here, you have to be in a VERY low income bracket (I know when Cody was a baby and our income went over $24,000, we lost his SSI and medical assistance, and it's an even lower cutoff for those who don't get SSI). Good thing that when we went over that limit it was because he got a new job with his current company, which carried insurance! Not many companies here offer insurance, either, which sucks!! And we have no programs such as Children's Special Health Services or anything, so if you don't qualify for MA, you get nothing at all. Not the best system, that's for sure!! S., mom to Cody (7, pwcf, nissen for severe reflux, malnutrition, ADHD), DJ (9, nocf, asthma, ADD), and a (14, nocf, ADHD) Insurance... > > > Our insurance, which is through my husband's work, is getting ready > to double up in price, so we do not know if it is going to be renewed > by the employer.
