Guest guest
I make a one egg omlette which contains fork-mashed soft-cooked broccoli or carrots or another veggie, and it also contains prosciutto which was first fried crisp and crumbled into it. Sometimes I add a bit of finely cut up chicken. I do add in some provolone cheese or aged cheddar for zip, but you can do without it. I do make the omlette crispy otherwise my son who has mouth sensitivies will not eat. Let me know if you decide to try this and how it goes over. mom to broderick, ASD, SCD 10 months > > Hi All; > > We've been dairy-free SCD for approx 6 weeks now. > > I'm still having great difficulty getting my 2 yo to eat veggies. Guest guest
Zucchini " noodles " ? Peel young zukes, slice very thin, then into julienne strips. Saute just a few minutes in butter or oil.... season and enjoy. Kids always love noodles. You could make fake " cheese " by pureeing some squash and carrots together with some oil (or other fat of your choice, perhaps save a little from a beef roast or the next chicken you cook).... season with paprika and salt. Something tells me they won't *really* buy that this is CHEESE... but I thought it was worth a shot. Patti Favourite recipes for youngsters? Hi All; We've been dairy-free SCD for approx 6 weeks now. Guest guest
How about the zucchini muffins? You could grate in zucchini, carrot, different kinds of squash. You could even reduce the amount of honey that the recipe calls for, I'm sure, and they would still taste good. I take a little almond flour, and mix in just enough milk substitute to make a paste and ice my muffins with it. Then I sprinkle a little cinammon on top to make them look fancy. Then you have a cupcake with icing, that contain very little sugar. > > I make a one egg omlette which contains fork-mashed soft-cooked > broccoli or carrots or another veggie, and it also contains > prosciutto which was first fried crisp and crumbled into it. > Sometimes I add a bit of finely cut up chicken.
