Guest guest
I am trying my 20 year old daughter on this diet....mostly eliminating bread and pasta right now as she seems addicted to these. Has anybody had success with a young adult on this diet? Rainlady's mom

Our list owner has older children on SCD and they do very well when they observe the selection of legal foods and avoid what is restricted. This is difficult to enforce with older children and young adults. Try to enlist her full cooperation. > > Carol F. Guest guest
I was at a conference last month. Some of the presenters were from Hopewell Associates, who work with both children and adults. (I consult with Pam Ferro whose son's Isaiah's story is in BTVC.) They say that they have wonderful results with adults - maybe not the " miraculous " results seen with the younger children - but depending on the condition of the person there are usually improvements. I, myself, have been on the diet (with occaissional drops off the wagon) but even with those there had been improvement. If nothing else the mood swings have lessened immensely. And when I have fallen of the wagon, the reactions to the 'illegals' are not to the extent they were before. They also said the healing process was usually longer for adults, and to try the diet for at least 3 months to see what improvements you do get.
