Guest guest
Appearances can be deceiving! " Dropped petals " was said with humor:-) We were all so serious yesterday. Sorry to be feeding the OT file here but I wanted to make my motives clear and say I understand and accept the fact I was not invited to join Open Blooms and have no hard feelings at all. My main reason for requesting an OB membership was to advise on MCS (Chemical Sensitivities) and Latex Allergy. The LA requires me to eliminate a few SCD foods but fortunately, I still have a varied selection of food. I rarely discuss it here unless someone identifies as having the problem and seeks help. Obviously in supporting others, I favor the application of SCD compliance as striving toward using the most varied menu possible eventually. I do not add illegals to SCD very often (even after having followed it for six years) 'cause I do not tolerate the addition of non celiac friendly foods as well as others who have been on SCD for a long time. Celiac seems like the most difficult of the gastric diseases to heal. Fortunately the foods I am unable to have are few and have reasonable equivalents within the SCD approved lists. Example, using squash where carrots are called for. Sharing the MCS experience would be a book length quantity of information. A list owner for SCD shares the illness and has just alerted me to a new book on the subject. I manipulated my environment very carefully to lighten the load on my immune system and have had a fair amount of success. A compromised immune system in my case was helped by SCD because otherwise I was in constant pain from both exposures and adverse food reactions. I can understand how a multi topic list would view how I express myself on this one as incompatible. But I am cool with that and respect the right of each list to preserve it's unique character. I will support anyone with the aforementioned conditions via email if they require help. My desire to join OB was to give advice on list in the above matters. Regarding the " veiled threat " I have seen consequences in cases of those who made certain alterations to SCD but cannot " order " but only advise. Some of this advice is based on my own experimental transgressions which were consistently ultimate failures. If I didn't suffer discomfort immediately, it always came within two weeks as Jody cautioned me it might. > > > > > As for recruiting to Open Blooms, be aware that discussions there > are > > less circumscribed but any alteration of SCD advocated could lead to > > dropped petals. :-) > > > > Carol F. > > My guess is that you were denied membership because of this veiled > threat. > > Your motivation for joining does not appear friendly. Guest guest
I too want to let others know that I in no way meant to cause anger in anybody. It is very very difficult to tell the " tone " of these posts, and it seems like everyone is SO on edge. It is sad that it is always assumed to be negative by others. I honestly assumed it to be a joke. I too in no way want to cause heart ache in any mothers or fathers, trying to heal their kids here. We all are on a journey, an NONE OF US, know where that will lead. Unless your Crystal ball works better than mine. LOL! And if that is the case I want yours! LOL! It would be stupid for me to assume what path I will be on in a few months let alone a year. Every since my ENTIRE family has been diagnosed with Celiac Disease (with exception of LUCKY adopted one), it has just seemed like one thing or another. Since tone is hard to " read " ...I will no longer be participating in topics that may end up controversy and possible " burn bridges " and not build them. I can not afford having people mad at me, thanks to frustrating misunderstandings no longer. Peace, Antoinette (celiac) and entire family with problems (celiac, add, adhd, autism and hyperekplexia) SCD 2/
Guest guest
Due to the fact that you found it important to post your membership denial even though you cannot supply an explanation, points to the idea that you really desire to portray OB in a bad light. Why else does such an announcement need to be made? So you can try to sell the line about your desire to help those on OB, but since this seems so inconsistent with many of your other posts concerning OB and its listmembers, I am not buying (Please note the smiley face posted with humor in true Carol fashion.) > > > > > > > > > As for recruiting to Open Blooms, be aware that discussions there > > are > > > less circumscribed but any alteration of SCD advocated could lead to > > > dropped petals. :-) > > > > > > Carol F. > > > > My guess is that you were denied membership because of this veiled > > threat. > > > > Your motivation for joining does not appear friendly. > > Carol F. > Toronto, celiac, SCD 6 years >
