Guest guest
Nothing was ever suggested about when to have heavier meals. I am hungriest first thing in the morning. How about you and yours? Don't you love the choices available for SCD breakfasts: waffles, pancakes, blintzes, omelets, home made granola, DCCC with fruit and yogurt. Why I have even had lamb chops for breakfast. And don't forget bacon or homemade sausage patties, and juices, grilled cheese or muffins and SCD breads. Lunches usually include a salad sometimes soup along with some protein and fruit and of course yogurt with honey. Lately, by dinnertime I am tired and lazy and don't always us the veggies that were planned to go with the main course. I just want to get it over with and hear the grinding of the creaky 'ole Maytag. So, I thought, " why not reverse the pattern? " Make it like traditional Sunday dinner used to be, the big meal at midday. That way one can take advantage of cooking energy. This is working better. Dinner tonight will be a Sonoma Chicken Salad (chunks of chicken, red seedless grapes, pecan pieces, seasonings and SCD mayo, some cold asparagus, a sliced half a mango and a small piece of cheese. Guest guest
Oooh, this post makes me so hungry! Could you please share if you have a good granola recipe? I know it would be advanced food- this is for me- I'm just " nut dieting " SCD now and will go back and do proper intro later. My son is no where near ready for granola, he is still cooked fruits stage- but I am craving sweet and crunchy! I have slivered almonds and thinly sliced almonds which I thought could be good oatmeal subs. Some honey and maybe some nut butter and coconut? Thanks! Guest guest
Carol asked: I am hungriest first thing in the morning. How about you and yours? I just love you Carol. You make it seem so easy in your post! I hope when we have six years under our belt that coming up with such wonderful meal ideas is this simple! We are getting better and faster. My son loves to eat broiled fish for breakfast and steamed broccoli with cheese. I don't argue anymore. There was a day when I would have thought him strange! Now I join him. We too are hungriest for breakfast, and often eat dinner at lunch time. Especially on the weekends when hubby is home! We often eat 6 to 8 times a day too. I don't know if Elaine recommended this...but we are a hungry crew! Thanks to SCD finally healing and growing and gaining back lost muscle! We eat a lot, and now that the cravings are gone...always feel satisfied. Thank you for your inspiration!
