Heidi and Sue,

thanks for the info. I really thought the duragesic patches were not for

intermittent use but I spoke with a lady that goes to my church who has cp.

She says she uses the duragesic patches only when she has a bad attack and

that they have kept her out of the ER. She says she saves them only for her

worst days and I think she said hers were 50 mg and she could use up to

three at a time if she needed to. I might have the dose wrong but she told

me she takes other pain med on a daily basis (she didn't say what). glad

you guys set me straight on the patches though. I think I will nix that

idea!

I'm having a second celiac plexus block on Monday in hopes that it will help

with the pain. The first one seemed to make a little bit of a difference

for a few days, so I'm willing to give it a try again.

The patches are measured in MCG (micrograms) NOT MGS (milligrams).

Just an FYI.

, good luck with the block. I do hope it affords you the

relief you deserve.
