I understand why taking them before surgery is not good and right after, but why NEVER. What happens with other pain meds, like Vicodin and percocets. I take pain meds almost everyday for back pain, now these are actually acetometophen and the pain reliever mixed, what happens here? I was supposed to get a list of can't EAT's from Liz (I think)in CT. I'd love to see that. I know that everyone is different and I might be able to eat anything, I just wanted to look at it. thanks a bunch - kathy in CT. _______________________________________________________ Say Bye to Slow Internet! http://www.home.com/xinbox/signup.html

(1) You probably will be pain free for the first time in a long time, immediately after surgery. It's hard to believe but true. (2) You can't take things like tylenol because of the damage they do to your liver and you can't take things with aspirin because of the risk of ulcers. You can take things like Vioxx after surgery, but that will be up to Dr. R. > I was supposed to get a list of can't EAT's from Liz (I think)in CT. Oh, piffle!!! Find out for *yourself* what you can eat after surgery. It's not that big a deal, really it is *not.* The main difference is in *amount* you can eat, not what you can or can't eat, at least after you get out of the first month or so after surgery, and you will have such a great working stomach, you will feel *full* on small amounts and not at all deprived. Here is my list of " can't eats: " Ice Cream, sometimes, not always. Big burden, that one, totally destroyed my life, I feel soooo deprived and dysfunctional, how will I ever ever make it without ice cream?? (I'm kidding!!!!). Frozen yogurt is fine and frankly, I cannot tell the dif between frozen yogurt and ice cream, myself. Kind regards,
