Guest guest
Good Morning; when I was referring to the stress response of the parasympathetic nervous system's fight or flight reaction; it is generally unnoticed by ourselves. We face a frightening situation and our bodies immediately begin its defense mechanisms. Thats what the stress response is I was referring. Scientist are just now learning more about how this response affects the human body. However, I firmly believe that when I am in a stressful situation, and I feel that defense mechanism kick in I know that I will be in panc pain shortly. This was only my guess as to how stress can affect those of us with cp and was an attempt to answer Heidi's question as to how stress may or may not be a trigger to panc attacks. What you describe sounds more l ike an anxiety attack, which is basically that same thing except it is more pronounced. There are of meds that can help anxiety, I take ativan twice a day to stay calm and not let myself get overly anxious or I will have a major attack. I have a bad habit of over thinking things and being a RN I know too much. Never underestimate th power of ignorant bliss. I think if you were to discuss anxiety, which is a proven diagnosis, with your physicians they can help you come up with some appropriate treatment. If your doc said you are a hypochondriac, find another doc and tell that one to shove it. Sorry I could not have been more help. Oh are you the Sonja that I told Mark to look into hemochomocytosis? I hope your feeling well today and do take care. Warmly,
