Hungry ALL the time

We went back to the intro diet about a month ago and have slowly been

adding foods back in. Right now my son eats 5 veggies (squash,

asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots, 3 fruits (brown banana,

apple, and pear), and meat (hamburger, pork, and chicken). We've had

tried spinach as well, but he wouldn't touch it. And we tried sauce

made from steamed strawberries put through a sieve, but he had

diarreah a couple days after introducing so we quit these. He is

doing great so far both behaviorally and poopwise, but he is

CONSTANTLY hungry. He will eat a plate of veg. and meat, with a bit

of steamed fruit at breakfast and want another entire plate within 1-2

hours, and he is forever looking in the fridge saying he is hungry. I

can't figure out what is going on. Is he really starving all the

time? Is he missing certain nutrients (I am a bit worried about his

fat intake), or is eating becoming a bit of an obsession? I can't

keep up with his needs it seems. I am always in the dang kitchen

making yet another plate of veg and meat.

Please consider using this link to determine the number of calories he

needs:

http://www.kidsnutrition.org/energy_calculator.htm

And then go to http://www.fitday.com and create a free account and

input his daily food intake.

You will be able to see whether he is getting enough calories.

Meat, fruits and veggies are all pretty low in calories. So, it may

just be that he is eating the right amount of food.

Try adding avocado and perhaps some coconut to his diet. They are both

high in calories and good fats.
