Guest guest
Hi Chrissie, I'm glad you're feeling better than you were before Christmas. You couldn't think of going back to work then, could you? You'll have to take it easy. I know exactly what you mean about pain being so distracting when you're trying to concentrate on your job. I don't know about pain meds. What have you taken in the past? I always take codeine, in different strengths depending on the pain. However, over the last couple of years (before I had this good spell which goes back now to mid-October), it wasn't enough to deal with the pain at its worse. I had always taken 2 x 8mgs codeine/500mgs paracetamol. That simply stopped dealing with the worst pain although still fine for mild attacks. The GP prescribed 30mgs codeine/500mgs paracetamol when I had very bad pain in September. I was really only supposed to take one if I would be driving. It did help more, of course, but not enough. On one occasion I took two, ie 60mgs codeine. I felt as though I'd been hit over the head with a large mallet. I wouldn't have wanted to drive. Since then I haven't had bad pain, for some unknown reason. I'm sure you must know a lot more than I do about pain killers and I hope you find something satisfactory. Are you worrying about going back to work? I can see that you want to. That's exactly how I feel. I dread the pain stopping me working as well as the pain itself of course. Take care. Good luck with the pain meds. Fliss
