Hello Everyone,

I am also very new to this site. I have sent in my letter for insurance

approval to United Healthcare of Florida and they have denied it- " out-of

network " . they have approved the RNY with " in network " doctors. Did anyone

out there get approval from United of Florida for Dr. R. And if so, help me

please. Ruqayya

Also, did anyone have total opposition and lack of support from family

members. Mine are rallying against it--but I'm not discouraged. I am

totally convinced that this is the answer for me. And I completely trust God

that I will be safe

Dr. R. is no longer sending the letters to the insurance comapany.

The letter will be sent to you as an attachment to an email. You

print

it off and send it/fax it yourself.

After submitting the on-line form, I received the email attachment

the

next day.

Hi Deborah,

Dr. R sends a letter to your insurance company based on what you said on the

patient information form that you filled out online. It took him about a week

and a half to get that done for me, but I know it has happened more quickly for

others. However, he is overwhelmed now with all the patients wanting the MGB,

so it may take him a while to get to yours.

I think you can get an appointment to attend one of the clinics he has on

Tuesdays pretty much anytime you want. They are at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm on

Tuesdays. At the clinic everyone sits in a room together, and Dr. R talks

about the MGB and shows a video of it. Then he sees post-ops first and then

pre-ops. If you just want to hear him talk about the MGB and see the video, I

think you can just show up, but if you want to see Dr. R personally, then you

need to call the office and make an appointment.

I don't know about BCBS, but I think it depends on what state you live in.

Maybe someone else can answer you about that.

Good luck to you! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them.

People on this list are great.

I'm sorry. I didn't realize that. I've been kind of out of it with having the

surgery :). That's better anyway because the insurance companies almost always

claimed that they didn't receive the letter from Dr. R, and then you had to

send it to them anyway yourself.

Thanks for correcting my mistake!

everytime u put food in your mouth. lol You know how Mom's are they never

think that you really have a problem. My Mom always say's just cut back

alittle then she invites you to dinner with some good ole FATTENING Italian

food (she is Italian) lol. And then when you only eat one plate of food she

say's what's the matter you didn't like my food. lmao OK mom.
