Guest guest
FHSI is proud to announce the launch of its 4th national needs assessment! Very little high-quality, national data exists on farmworkers and available social services. Nevertheless, organizations need data to set program benchmarks, learn farmworker needs, and acquire funding to meet those needs. This research provides sought-after information to outreach programs, advocates, and funders in order to respond to farmworker disparities. This project will collect data on migrant and seasonal farmworker health needs and barriers as well as outreach program demographics, services, and challenges. By utilizing five distinct methods, FHSI will be gathering and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data. Online survey with health center outreach program leaders Community forums with health center outreach staff Focus groups with farmworker parents Telephone survey with health center administrators Existing documents & data from farmworker-specific studies FHSI will solicit the involvement and support of people in the migrant health community. These individuals will have an instrumental role in this national needs assessment by sharing their insight and experiences with the farmworker population. FHSI seeks to gain a sound understanding of national trends among farmworkers and farmworker outreach programs. FHSI invites you to be part of this important study! Your voice is not only welcomed, it’s needed! This research provides sought after information to outreach programs, advocates, and funders in order to respond to the disparities farmworker face.
