Guest guest
I have a 2.5 year old with some form of colitis. He has been doing the diet for 4 days. He is still having diahhrea. But I have made adjustments - he won't eat the eggs so I made the banana pancakes. He is tried of eating the soup so I have made grilled chicken. I have made the yogurt and I mix it with filtered water and add a little honey and he drinks it. I screwed up and gave him bluberries one day and the next watermelon. I now know that was a mistake. So my questions: can I grill instead of broil? I having been making my yogurt in the oven so it has not been available to broil. Can he eat the bananas and still get good results? He is hungry all the time, I am discouraged. I am hoping today brings a better bowel movment. One more question: I left my yogurt in my oven overnight but forgot to turn on the oven light - does that mean - throw it out? - it was like that for 6 hours. Thanks for your response. Guest guest
Hi Carla, Did you do the intro diet? Just wondering. Ripe bananas are okay... just not part of the intro. We only do intro for a few days... but if he is still having diarrhea, are you trying to *sort of* stay on intro right now? I can't say if doing the intro diet with bananas would be advisable... but, if he simply won't eat anything else, just make sure they are very ripe. The blueberries and watermelon were definitely NOT acceptable foods for intro.... OR in the beginning weeks/months of the diet..... if they were raw. Blueberries are tricky because they are so seedy... and the skins are hard to digest. You'd have to cook them and then strain them through a fine sieve. Yes, you can grill instead of broiling. I'm sorry about the yogurt... I would not trust that it had fully fermented if the temp dropped too low for six hours. Try again. My best advice is to invest in a yogurt maker! You can get a Salton for only $20.... maybe less if you check at a thrift store.... or look on eBay. Patti starting I have a 2.5 year old with some form of colitis. Carla Carla, Without the warmth of the light bulb (and it should not be the oven bulb but a regular 60 watt light bulb) the incubation did not take place so discard the yogurt. Yogurt should not be started right away. Did you make the pancakes with nut flour? That is also premature if so. Carol F.
