First, thatnk you to Jodi and Patti for your responses to my last

post. I am 13 days into SCD,for my daughter and I and really still

struggling with introducing foods. Some of the problems are that we

are very hungry. The thing with this is that I have had a concern

for a few months that there may be somrhting going on for my

daughter and I as far as amounts of food we eat. we eat a LOT.. yet

are both thin even before starting SCD, though we have beenon a

very restrictive diet before this ( beef, veges potatoes and some

alternative grain.. period)

anyway, we have been eating consistently beef, squash and have I

believe successfully added chicken.. this is huge for us....and, of

all things, broccoli. I was desperate. She does realy, really

well with it... go figure. Things we have failed.. either

behaiorally or digestion wise: apples, carrots, almonds and cashews

( seems nuts in gerneal are too much.. not surprising, it's earily)

with a question mark for bannana and raw milk chedder cheese. I

know this last one is a strectch, but we are really struggling.

Not eating certain food is not hard for us, you can change them,

but as long as we can get enough food , we are ok. The problem is

we can't get enough food, nad now my daughter is starting to

boycott squash.. who can blame her? we have spent our life savings

on squash, tons of time to cook it, and quite frankyl we are sick

of seeing it. But that is out and we have nothing. Emma can't have

eggs, jury is out raw milk dairy. Sigh.. so this is a bit of a

rant..

So yesterday was the proverbial good day/ bad day. We had two

well formed stools yesterday.. a first in our house. I was very

encouraged.. then saw carrot pieces in the stool. I had given

her... yes, I know before I start it was too many foods... banana(

questioning this one) adn made some cashew cookies... cashew flour

ground REALY FINE, palm oil shortening, hardly any honey and a bit

of baking soda. She probably had 8-10 cookies.. mind you our

cookies are the size of a quarter through the day( probably the

equivalent of two or so cookies). Then we tried the raw milk

cheese.. Anyway, she had runny stools that totally bruned her

bottom last night...wacked out behaviors.. gave her activated

charcoal.... we haven't been here since we started SCD.

So, I know I need to cut back those foods and start again so to

speak.. but I just don't know what to do about the hunger thing. WE

can do without a food, but you can only cook and eat so much of the

same food before you don't want to eat it anymore. And also, we are

essentially just doing almost an atkins like diet... only worse

because we can't hve the dairy. sigh. I write down everything she

eats, all reactions, I am working so hard and I am beginning to

wonder if there is just something so wrong with her gut that even

this can't help it. Sorry but it's been a long few years. OH and, I

am not convinced that even pears work for her! Anyway, any help

would be appriciated. Sorry to ramble.
