Guest guest
I have had TP without ICT, so i'm diabetic and on insulin. I was hoping to be able to have an insulin pump. Been to diabetic clinic today. The doctor told me that an insulin pump could be more dangerous for someone who has had a TP, especially if it stopped working without you realising, you would be more prone to diabetic ketacidosis. I thought that was why it was important to check blood sugars regularly. He also said that research shows the humalog / glargine regime that i am on at present, is just as effective as a pump. Does anyone know if this is true? I'm not entirely convinced by what the doctor told me, and i am still keen to try the pump. I would be grateful for any info. Thanks, Sue
