Guest guest
I am so excited about meeting ya'll that is has kept my mind occupied. Between ya'll and the flight, and thinking about the zoo and such, my mind doesn't dwell on the negative. I have been trying not to think about so much WHY I am going but to indulge in the vast silver lining that surrounds this trip. Surgery has never worked well for me in the past, I dont think I am a very good surgical candidate. Only because it seems that everytime I get cut it just makes matters worse. But, I am not going to think about that, I am going to keep my eyes on that silver lining. I will bring some ativan though...*s* Love, Chrissy
Guest guest
Chrissy, Don't feel bad about being afraid of surgery. I have never had surgery in my whole life. Then I had my gallbladder out and wham, bam, no thank you ma'am,,, did I ever have pain. That is when I was dx with the SOD. So needless to say I am very gun shy when it comes to surgery. They found that I have a kidney stone. It fortunately is stuck right in the pole of my kidney on the inside and has not moved at all. I never even knew that I had it, It just showed up on my abdominal CT. The urologist wants me to have it crushed and taken out. I told him no way . I only had one surgery and it did not fair well, so I am not looking for trouble. Of course as a nurse, I know better than that. But sometimes we can not be objective because we are not nurses now, we are THE PATIENT. And you know how hard it is to be a patient let alone to have patience. So take one day at a time. Ask Dr. Mathews LOTS of questions, then we will all have very positive vibes if you need surgery. The problem with you is that you are too smart and know too much as a nurse and have seen alot. So we will erase all of that crap from your mind and send positive findings your way for a great outcome. You just need to work thru your fear, and you will know what you need to do after you takk to Dr. Mathews. You will know if he is the man for you. Just got directions form my brother inlaw in Cincy. He said not to walk at night alone. The area is not the best and not the worst. So becareful till we ge there young lady !
