Guest guest
A couple of weeks ago I posted to Jean my gr-grandmothers recipe (we call them recipts) for Sands. It was written in her own hand in the 1880's or so and I literally inherited it. Literally handed to me... you would think it was written on gold leaf by Christ himself...lol. At any rate the recipe is the same as most it is the technique that makes it so much better. I did give some helpful hints though in that post. I usually make divinity fudge and English toffee as well but I just dont have the strength this year. I am still surprised at how weak I am. Shoot I still have presents to wrap. I did find some fresh pecans, I refuse to used pre- packaged machine picked store bought nuts when I bake. Might as well just through in chuncks of plastic... besides when you crack fresh nuts and crush them in wax paper with a rolling pin you release all the good nut oils and that adds to the moisture of your baked goods. I do love the house smelling all sweet and warm with the baking, add that with the fresh smell of pine from the tree and wreaths and it is an olfactory paradise... thats what I call aroma therapy...lol. Have a wonderful day and good luck with the sands... you do know the difference between a yankee and a damn yankee right?? Just kidding... 27 years is long enough. You do eat grits and oysers right, add okra and your a born again southerner! Merry Christmas Hiedi. Chrissy
