Guest guest
Okay, I'm probably not doing this right at all, but I will just need to plow through, and do what I can and slowly maybe have to go backward or something... For breakfast, I made banana pancakes. I had two ripe bananas on the counter that I mashed and added two eggs to. I then pulled two frozen black bananas out of the freezer, and tried to mash them into the mixture. I should have mashed them separate. When I went for the egg, I decided since they were shrively, I'd only add one egg with the two bananas. They were hard to flip, and fried fast. My boys both turned their noses up. Youngest had a hard boiled egg from the fridge. Oldest just went back to his computer. Dear husband, (aka DH) tried the " pancake " and balked, so I made him scrambled eggs. I left the remaining mixture on the counter, until a bit later when dear daughter (dd) came in and wanted something. I had her try some cold, and she decided to go for a hot one. I had already added the fourth egg (now 1:1 ratio again) and the pancake looked more like a pancake, and flipped easily this time. She loved them! While she ate, I cooked the last 3 and ate one myself, which I tolerated. Then, I made the gelatin, in a mini muffin tin, so they'll be little finger bites. I used Welch's grape juice for that. I also threw in a portion of the last turkey I made, into a pot, added a bay leaf, a garlic clove, and 3 carrots, plus part of an onion. Later, I will chop the veggies fine, and debone the broth. I realize this isn't entirely intro diet fare, but I have been met with grouchy attitudes already. All three kids had a spoonful of the " new peanut butter " , and the boys were not particularly impressed. Dd discussed with me all the food she will miss while we're doing this diet. " How will I survive without chocolate? What about pizza? It'll just be wrong without that too! OH, and NO bread? pop? spaghetti?? What, no mozz cheese either?? " They all act like they will " suffer " through this, for me. So, I really need positive talk right now. My family is doing this very begrudgingly. Which, btw is what I expected. lol 1st day scd with (13 - ASD), Dani (dd - 11) and Tanner (8 - fights constipation) plus dh (35 LOL deals with heartburn)
