Guest guest
Hey Kaye, Tell Doogie Hosier from me, not only can you feel the spasm, but #$% & ^$#@ yes you can feel that spasm ! Your story had me in stitches, you have such a way with words. The bowling ball,,, yep,,, yep,,,, yes sireeeeeee sir,,,,, the bowling ball thru the naval was a kind description ! Call me, would love to go with you to your next appointment, I will bring my ball so we can do some REALITY PRACTICE. Thanks for keeping me in stitches, have a great holiday ! From one SOD queen to another, Lily from OHIO a stupid question from a doc! hi all: Most of you all know the hassles I have had with doctors etc. The same ones everybody else has had. Sometimes things smooth out, sometimes they dont. The last PCP I had, wanted my " health care power of attorney " and told because they could " keep a rock alive now adays " I Had to give her that " power " for her chart! I am not even going into what I wound up telling her and needless to say my hubby and I have found a new PCP. Hubby went to PCP two weeks ago and he liked him as did I. I went with hubby for appointment. Last week, I had my appointment with PCP (who looks the age of my son) who at least has some respect for the sanctity of life. BUT after talking with him, I figured out right away he knew little to nothing about pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis or any other kind of pancreatitis! This does not rattle me because I don't expect him to know anything and I have a GI doc and can go back to MUSC. But I thought you all would enjoy the question he asked me. I explained to him I had sphicnter of Oddi dysfunction causing the pancreatitis. Explained all I had been through, all the central lines and the complications and you all know the drill. Anway, he looks at me and says " CAN YOU FEEL THESE SPASMS? " Being sarcastic as I can be I wanted to ask him if he has ever craped a bowling ball through his belly button! But, I was good and explained to him that I had had two kids and would much rather have kids anyday than a spasm. Only goes to show you, these docs know nothing about CP. Even after I explained everything to him, he was so impressed I no longer had my gallbladder.....you know the solution to all our CP problems. After I told him the gallbladder was lost 7 years before hte pancreatitis he was taken aback. I am sure now he probably things I am a raving alcoholic because it can only be oneo f two reasons right? Gallbladder disesae or alcoholism! I did get through to him that I have no veins and it is a disaster for me to be in the hospital. But then he focused in on the fact that I have a pain managemetn doctor who gives me injectable pain meds! Makes me a druggie right? Just thought you all would like to hear one of the stupidest questions every asked by a doctor! Can I feel the spasm? Geez!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas all Kaye ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
