Guest guest
Hi Katy, when you go to the files-section of our list's homepage you'll find some interesting info about staph in the research file. Fiona cultures for staph for more almost six years now and she is doing very well. We treat it with oral antibiotics when she coughs too much. Usually that happens three months after the last course, so Fiona gets antibiotics four times a year. Hope you and your brother will get better soon! Peace Torsten, dad of Fiona 6wcf and Sebastian newborn wocf e-mail: torstenkrafft@... Piper's cultures are back.. > Well as if my week couldn't get any worse (I had surgery on Wednesday, and recovery hasn't been a bed of roses, Wednesday night my brother-in-law had a 4-Wheeler wreck and broke his femur in 2 places, they had to put a rod in his leg on Thursday, I am having to be totally dependent on everyone for everything, I can't even talk or pick up Piper) so anyway to top all this off her doc called me to tell me that her throat swab cultured staph, he put her on oral antibiotics for 6 weeks, but I am scared. What does this mean? Does it mean that the staph is just in her throat or is it in her lungs too? What kind of damage can it do? Sorry for all the questions, but I am really concerned about this, and since I have no voice I can't exactly call and ask them. > > Thanks, > > > Katy > Mom to Austin 4 no CF & Piper 1 w/CF > CF Awareness Week October 12-18th > >
