: There is an article in the Sept/Oct 2007

issue of Streamline called “Immigration Concerns Impact Federally-Funded

Health Centers” that responds at least in part to your very important question. See page 2 at http://www.migrantclinician.org/files/streamline/20070910_mcn_streamline.pdf

for some statements from of Farmworker

Justice.

Turning away undocumented immigrants

Can anyone direct me to some official language or documents where it

states

that undocumented immigrants can not be turned away from an FQHC? I had it

at one time but can't seem to put my fingers on it. Thank you.

Hi, , Hi Candace and everyone--

Also, isn't is part of EMTALA language that nobody can be turned away from medical care/ clinics/ hospital, including undocumented immigrants? EMTALA= Emergency Medicine, Treatment, and Labour Act (something like that). If you google EMTALA, you'll actually find some legal documents/ explanations and perhaps the official language you're looking for.
