Guest guest
It seems to me that most CP sufferers are taking some kind of antacid, either OTC or prescribed. Is that true? I went to my doctor yesterday to tell her the nausea is getting worse - more frequent and more severe. She diagnosed reflux and prescribed a generic for Pepcid. Can anyone tell me what connection there is between reflux and nausea? I've been using fresh ginger for tea and chewing candied ginger, and it's just not handling the nausea anymore, which is why I went to the doctor. Because the nausea is interering with work (no problem yet working on the computer, but paperwork, even for a few minutes of concentration makes me feel ill) I thought I'd tell the doctor about it. I just hesitate to add another medication to what I'm already taking (the pancrease, nortriptyline, melatonin, and occasional hydrocodone.) Sometimes I feel too ill to drive to work. In addition to the nausea (which is a " sick " feeling, sometimes a churning in the stomach) there is a " full " feeling at the back of the throat, with a horrible taste, which is why my doctor diagnosed reflux, I presume. What I have felt as an ache, deep center and sometimes to the left, right where the ultrasound tech showed me where my pancreas lies, could that be " heartburn? " Thank you for any helpful advice. Guest guest
Hi All, As usual there are always a lot of comments about this condition on this board as to be expected. I just wanted to remind folks to try to be so very self aware. As we travel through our lives it's easy to get caught up in the moment like eating a meal and maybe we do something that will cause us harm. Panc. patients can't afford that luxury, we must always be aware of our feeling our condition, our stomach area, and any other of our normal signs. Eat slowly, drink plenty of fluids, and if there are any warnings, stop and evaluate. We might not stop a problem but we might minimize it. As to nutrition, a daily multivitamin is a cheap good insurance. Don't go for the exotic special mixtures, Flintstones work quite well as long as you take the " Willmas " feet first. No reason, I just made that up Listen to your body and your digestive system, you must work with it as it isn't likely it will cooperate with you. Please have a good day, don't get caught up into the Christmas rush, plan ahead and try to begin to enjoy the Holiday even now. Best Wishes to All Poncho - GA
