Guest guest
Hello Rick, I'm sorry you are having such problems with eating. I think one of the difficulties is that there are quite significant differences between what people can eat although, as Heidi said, NO ALCOHOL is always the rule for drinks. CP affects people in different ways and patients that you communicate with will be at different stages of the disease at any one time. Add to that the fact that everyone reacts a little bit differently to foods and medicines anyway and you appreciate the difficulty! The same person can have different reactions at different times. For example, when I'm going through a " good spell " , I can eat really well, even including some fats, provided I take my enzymes. When I'm going through a bad time, it doesn't really matter what I eat or avoid....I will have pain etc. I'd be a happier woman if I could predict what foods trigger pain...I just can't! In general, people find small meals and low fat helpful. Some people cannot tolerate any dairy products or red meat. Some have problems with acidic foods. Some need to adopt a liquid diet at times. Sorry not to be more help but there are no simple solutions. A degree of trial and error is important. Has your specialist given any more specific advice? Hope things improve.
