Guest guest
My granddaughter is at Shands Hospital in Gainsville FL. She is 13 years old and was told this morning that her blood sugar level was elevated and her being a diabetic was tested. Results came in this aft and it isn't this condition so, as of now we don't have a clue as to why it was elevated. Another first she has to wear oxygen when she has her therapy because it puts too munh strain on her heart. and she must sleep with it on all night. Is this pretty typical for her age?all this newness is scary for family. If anyone else has dealt with any issues like these I would like to learn how to cope and if these conditions continue to get better over time or it it something we must learnto live with? Guest guest
Howdee, If you will send me your name & address I will send you some info & perhaps it will elevate any unusually worry .You may do that privately, if you wish -It is bevd@... .. We worry naturally about most things of this sort . Understanding will NOT stop that worry.---- But maybe lower that level of concern...When we know that they also know that they (docs-medical world) can & do have meds/treatments to help & /or prevent ------That is when it is a help toward stress removal. We have had several younger folks on the list,- who yes..have had these conditions...The docs will do anything to help heal & ease her discomfort. So many advances have been made ....each year...Shands is an excellent center......I know many of them VERY well & have for 18 years. Stay on it .....ask all the questions to them AND by all means here too, You will get some helpful information .Do remember that it will be from their experiences.....all cases are NOT alike, but many are similar. I hold you all in my special wishes. LOVE & HUGS, GrandmomBEV Orlando, FL Re: bloodwork came back, blood sugar elevated??????????????? My granddaughter is at Shands Hospital in Gainsville FL. Guest guest
I am sorry to hear about your grand daughter. I also have a grand daughter with CF. My grand daughter is only 1 1/2 years old. The future scares me too. I hope that your grand daughter improves quickly. Gale > My granddaughter is at Shands Hospital in Gainsville FL.
